If I feel better, should I stop taking Lexapro?

It is advised, that you continue taking this medicine, even if you feel better.  You might feel better after 1- 4 weeks after you start taking it,  but full recovery takes time, so  make sure you talk to your doctor as it is up to him/her to determine the length of the treatment

Can Lexapro be used in pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or planning to have a baby, make sure you let your doctor know.  There was no studies performed on humans to test if Lexapro is safe to use. So, it should be used only if the benefits are higher than potential risks. Talk to doctor about that decision.

Can this medicine be used during breastfeeding?

Lexapro, like many other medications is excreted in breast milk. So, this is up to a doctor to determine whether to continue taking this medication or stop.

Will I gain weight?

In a few studies done on volunteers there has been no weight changes recorded.

How to take Lexapro?

Lexapro has to be taken once a day, with or without food; it’s better to do that at the same time, so you don’t miss the dosage.

Can I drink alcohol?

It is advised to avoid all alcohol while taking this medication.

What if I miss a dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remembered, and start taking it the next day as normal. Do not compensate for the missed dose.
